サンダーボックス。
殿方大喜びの鍵穴変形ジャケ。ＬＰ中袋を引っ張り出しますと「わお」。中身を聴いて作ったとは思えぬヒプノシスひぷしのすの所業だ。事実上のラスト・アルバムと申すそうです。「そうです」なんて心元無いすが、何だかわかりませぬけどパイさんには縁がありませんでした。原因は不明(^_^;)。これを聴かねばならぬとかで音楽生活送って来ませんでしたので、たどり着かなかったんだろな。再結成後のとかは持ってるのでこれはひとえに安い値段で遭遇しなかったと、多分。あはは。値段で決まる悲しき音楽ファン。今回嬉しき遭遇。聴いて悪い訳は無い。サンダーーー。



１．サンダーボックス
うぉー来たー。ロックっ！クレムソン＝マリオット両氏のオリジナル。出だしの、ほへはひふひ、の発声が尋常でありません。ロックかロックで無いかを判断するのはとんでも無い声で歌ってるか否か。マリオットさんの歌は常人じゃあねえ。大好きディープなソウル大会の開幕。これがロックなのは尖がって突き刺さる声と演奏です。黒い人のは鋭くてもまろやかー。どっちがどっちって選べるもんじゃ無し。逆に演る所以だ。

２．ジーザスとグルーヴィン
ファンキーっ！ラップで絡むぞハード・ファンク。リトル・フィートが大陸で、パイが島で獲得した無二のグルーヴ。永遠の輝きぴっかり。

３．アイ・キャン・スタンド・ザ・レイン
ハイだー。オリジナルはサザン・ソウル・クイーン、

アン・ピーブルズ嬢（私はいえな）。ピポパパプッポ、ポッペの妙にテクノなリフで御なじみ。ここでは無論テノク臭は皆無。とんでもねえ声でうぎゃあと歌うマリしゃん。腰溜めの演奏と溶けて絡んで鳴り響くラッパ。歌いたかったんだろな。

これも聞き比べで楽しむ。どんな曲でもうぎゃああんなあああぁあ。ソウル持ちロック。

５．ノー・ウエイ
オリジナルです。ニュー・オリンズ・スタイルのファンク。ミーターズ！。聴いてたんだなあ。当然同じものを見てたＺＥＰとシンクロ、より現地の臭い強し。好きだからもうたまらん。バックのハープがどろどろ。

６．ラリー・ウイズ・アリ
オリジナル。モハメド・アリ氏への応援歌だそうです。蝶の様なフットワーク・リズム。当然ファンク。跳ねる弾ける。サンダーボックスとは正に言いえて妙のアルバム・タイトルかと。紛れも無く７４年に出す音だと思う。

７．ドント・ウォリー、ビー・ハッピー
同名の軽妙楽しいヒット曲がありました。誰だっけ、あれ歌ってたの。むー、すまん。思い出せぬ。それとは全く逆、重くて粘って捏ねてるファンクでソウルでロックな曲。♪はぺーーー、って、ひゃあああってオルガンが。ががががってギターが。どたんずどんってドラムが。ぐごんずずんってベースが。うぎゃあって歌が。

８．９９パウンズ
赤コーナー、９９パウンズうう。ってちょっと軽すぎるレスラーには(^0^)。出だしの、おうお、の掛け声でもう勝利確定ソング。サビのキャッチーさにやられる。何なーパンでねっちょぼんるーね、何なーパンで剃る、てね。当然自らブラックベリーズのお姉さん方に紛れ込ませて貰って歌う。蹴飛ばされて追い出されるな。

９．エヴィリ・シングル・デイ
クレムソン氏作。超低重心ファンクでハードロック。ぎゃおとぎゅうぃーんとどんたか。３つが有れば他はいらぬわ。

１０．ノー・マネー・ダウン
チャック・ベリー氏作。

へいユーで左とん平なブルースっす。

かかってきなさいのでっかい懐。相手にマワシは取らせません。

１１．ドリフト・アウエイ
７３年のドビー・グレイ氏の黒のヒット曲。

これ歌ってるの誰だろう。ライナーではベースのグレッグ・リドリー氏では無いかと書いて有ります。歌いっぷりがドビー氏にそっくり。カラオケでオハコ曲だったのかも。ロッド・スチュワート兄貴もアトランティック・クロッシングでカバーしてます。名曲ですから。


１２．おー・ラ・ディダ
７０’ｓスタックスの看板、ステープル・シンガーズのおハコ曲のカバー。

歌いたかったんだろなあ。あっちは凄いです黒女３＋黒おじさん１の大迫力。パイさんはマリしゃん+ブラックベリーズ。どっちがどっちなんてえいえねえ。こっちも大迫力。何か最近ＣＭで使われた気がするのですけど。

ジャケのおかげで勢いで買ってしまった殿方、もしくは淑女の皆さんも大満足、この寒い冬を間違いなく吹き飛ばす熱あつでござる。遅ればせながら私も参加させてー。

　あさて、さてはロジャース一派で一番商業的に成功した男と言えば、フォーリナーの



ルー・グラム氏

かもしれぬ。世にも珍しきアメリカ大陸での継承者でもあり。そのスタイルはさらに哀愁をすぱと切り落としたかんらかんらの北米スタイル。何よりの味方はバンド内に鬼の総監督ミック・ジョーンズ氏がおって、あれも駄目これも駄目と締まりに締まったロック・キャッチー曲を作り出してくれたことが最大の吉と出た。歌有っての歌手なり。その歌を失うと同時に己も失い、探さねばならぬ歌を。
　音楽がぎゅうぎゅうと渦巻いている小島イギリス、ロジャース氏直後に第２世代御三家とゆう方々が存在しました。ロバート・パーマー、フランキー・ミラー、ジェス・ローデンの三氏。の中で最も成功したパーマー氏はロジャース一派とはちと言い難し。屈折レンズの果て、己独自になり申す。
